Holiday and group home Schlickwirt

A house for community and self-catering

Your stay

We provide the space – you create the experience. You have the entire house to yourselves and decide whether it’s a game night in the dining hall, a creative workshop in the lounge, or a relaxing afternoon by the pool.

The base for your active holiday

The cross-country skiing trail and cycling path pass directly by the house. The nearest ski resort is only 8 minutes away by car, and the Lungau region, with its many mountain lakes, is perfect for hiking.

Respecting our community

Our house is located in the heart of the village of Oberweißburg. We value our good relationship with our neighbors and the tranquility of our surroundings. Therefore, our house is a place for community and connection – but not a venue for loud parties late into the night.

Your host

The story of our house began in the 1970s with my grandparents, Anna and Andreas. For over three decades, from 1990 to 2023, my parents Helga and Peter managed and shaped the business. Since 2024, I, Klaus Maria, have been continuing this tradition. I am grateful for the foundation they built and look forward to writing the next chapter together with my family. Inspired by my travels and experiences in community projects, I see in this house the opportunity to offer a place where exchange, connection, and community can flourish.

We look forward to many wonderful encounters with you

sustainability

We are actively committed to climate protection and a sustainable lifestyle in harmony with nature. Our house is heated using local wood – mostly from our own forest – as well as solar energy. We produce part of our electricity ourselves via a photovoltaic system, while the remainder is sourced from the regional energy cooperative, Energiegenossenschaft Oberlungau.

Our water comes directly from the Oberweißburg spring, located just a few hundred meters away. To keep our house clean, we use eco-friendly cleaning products from Hollu. In the garden surrounding our group home, not only our guests but also bees, numerous birds, and insects feel right at home.

Social sustainability is equally important to us. For repairs or renovations, we always rely on local craftsmen and prioritize the use of regional materials

Our house offers an ideal starting point for hikes and bike tours in the breathtaking surroundings of the Lungau Biosphere Park! Because of our altitude we always have cool nights to take a rest from the citys heat.
